My wife went to collect her credit card and was refused as she did not have proof of residence on her. She is two weeks due to give birth and was told that she would not get it without the proof of residence. We also explained that we had recently moved and had nothing yet, only on a doctors statement, which obviously was not good enough. A letter from the tenant was also written and faxed to the bank, but that also was not good enough. So two hours later to no avail she was unable to collect her card. This is a disgrace. Apregnant woman to be treated this way and messed about. I have collected cheque cards and credit cards without proof of residence, only an ID book. What does my address have to do with a credit card. This is total how we get treated as customers. Totally DISGUSTED with ABSA... GET A WAKE UP.
