I use my debit card frequently and look after it, but the expiry date is so far ahead that no matter how hard I try, the plastic covering and the magnetic strip finally gave in. I was charged R50 for a replacement card. I know it's not a huge amount of money but it bugs me that the expiry date these days is so far ahead that it's almost impossible to keep the card in good condition. And don't think one should be charged for this. The card expires next March and then I don't mind paying a replacement fee.
