I don't believe in credit, unless you REALLY have to, eg study or buy a home. I've repaid two study loans and my credit card is in a debit. When I started receiving smses earlier the year to say that my RCS ASC account (or something like that) was in arrears, I completely ignored it, as it was obviously not meant for me. It was only when my bank told me my home loan was denied that red lights started flashing. I googled RCS ASC (because no, I didn't know what it was) that I got behind the whole thing.
A ms S Naidoo opened an account WITH MY ID NUMBER! And now I'm blacklisted, because HER account is in arrears. The 'only thing' I had to do according to them was to send them an affidavit with a certified copy of my ID, which I did on 11/03 (and they received it), then it will be sorted out in 7-21 working days. After following up weekly, this morning they tell me it hadn't been "lodged" yet and that the days only start counting from "lodging". Meantime, my rental contract is running out, and I can't get a home loan?
Why is an unprofessional company like this allowed to give loans? Where are their proof of ms S Naidoo's ID when she applied? This should be sorted out in 1h not months!
