I made an application for a student loan for my son with Nedbank. He is studying a B degree in Agriculture at the Elsenburg Agricultural Training College in Stellenbosch. I took the application form to a branch in Dec 2012 and was told that I should bring it in the new year. Which I did on 7 Jan 2013 with all the neccessary supporting documentation. I received a call today and was informed that the Elsenburg institute is not recognised by Nedbank and therefore the application is unsuccesfull???
The Elsenburg Institute for Agricultural Training is administered by the Western Cape Government and their curriculum is managed by the University of Stellenbosch. How is this possible? I get the feeling that Nedbank is not really in touch with the needs of their clients.
I have to mention that I made a succesfull application with another bank: Telephonically - no paperwork AT ALL, at PRIME interest rate. The reason I have also applied with Nedbank is that I have been a client for more than 30 years and would rather do business with them than another bank. But they have let me with no choice.
