I sold my car and wanted to deposit the R50 000 cash into my bond account at ABSA. The teller could not tell me what the deposit would cost me?! He told me that i had to leave his counter, and stand in the 'enquiries' que to ask them what the fee would be, then come back to him at the teller cubicle?! I told him that he should go and find out, as I was a customer! He said he could not leave his cubicle and that i had to go find out!!! I called a manager, to be told my deposit fee would be a ridiculous R750!!! I said that that fee was crazy and that i would go to standard bank where the fee would be half that. She suggested I do just that! I deposited my cash into standard bank, and from there eft'd the amount into my bond at ABSA. It cost me nothing!!! Big BAD to ABSA and their poor customer focus, and their ridiculous deposit fees!!!
