Friday 28/6 my mother, an ABSA client, needed to deposit money into our account for a pre arranged payment to TIC with regards to travel insurance we both bought. I asked her to bring me the cash, so I can deposit it free of charge at the SBSA ATM machine in Merriman Ave Stellenbosch, as per benefits of our account package. My mother went to the Neelsie ABSA to cash the cheque, and saw SBSA was right next door. She decided to inquire about SBSA cash deposit fees. She asked the teller on duty, Songezwa Dikeni, what the cash deposit fees would be if she deposited it at the branch. After checking our account, the teller informed her that we have not used all our "free cash deposit s" for the month, and that the transaction would be free. My mother believed her, and proceeded to deposit the cash. SBSA clients knows there is no such a thing as a free cash in branch deposit at SB, ABSA clients dont. Because of the advice of a teller, who was clearly not trained and informed, SBSA charged me R67 in bank charges. I would like those charges reversed please. Numerous phone calls to SBSA call centre RE this matter turned out to be futile, with nobody coming back to me. Check REF#539154
