I have settled my homeloan with Standard Bank in August 2012 I sent an email as advised by the Std Bank staff. Since August last year my bond was not cancelled. I sent the complaint to Hello Peter in November 2012 when they responded and promised that I will be contacted by their lawyers Ramabulana in Alberton. I was contacted by Theart & Mey Attorneys and instructed to pay the amount of R3000 and such money was paid in Dec 2013. To date I was never contacted by the lawyers. In January 2013 I got a letter from Std Bank written in Afrikaans I'm not sure about the content of the letter but i could see the amount written which i have to pay to St Bank for service fees. I will not pay the service fees of the bond that was cancelled in August & Standard didn't do their part ensure the mortgage is cancelled. I spoke to consultant today who told me that I should contact the lawyers I won't contact the lawyers i dont have a contract with them are instructed by Std Bank not me. As a Human Rigts Lawyer I will take this matter to Consumer Affairs for investigation that will assist other people& the uneducated who find themselves in similar situation avoid repossession of their properties
