PREMIUM TAKEN NOW GOODS CANNOT BE INSURED

I have household insurance with Hollard from 2011 and i contacted them to ask for a fax number to send the
evaluation certificate for my Jewels that i have insured with them, once the consultant Precious found out the amount of the value of the items she advised me that they cannot insure the jewels for me. When I queried for the reason she advised me that it is more than the value of my household contents. She advised that i was supposed to have sent my evaluation certificate within seven days of me insuring it, i was not told that i need to send the certificate within seven days by the consultant who added my items on the policy. We spoke to Precious and she advised me that it is stated on my policy documents that it has to be sent within seven days. I have read the policy in detail and nowhere in the policy does it state that i have seven days to send the valuation certificate. I now had to contact other insurance companies to insure my jewels, however they need me to insure my house and household contents. I just need to know why i was not informed that i need to send the certificate and they cannot add it to the policy, why take my premium every month.
