Three weeks to close my account???

I go to FNB to close all accounts because of the horrible hidden costs that cost me R2500 in charges last year on a credit credit card with a R4000 limit. This is three weeks ago, wait in line see the consultant then I am told I needed my mother's ID because I had never even been FICA'd and they don't have my ID on the system. I return the next week Tuesday, same story wait in line take another hour off at the office with my mother and the say there are transactions that need to clear come back in two days. I return last Friday, spend two hours at the bank, I am told they are waiting for R3.85 paypal purchase to clear. I say let me just pay it I have R4 right there, but no, I have to come back on Monday it will all be sorted witihin 24 hours. I come back yesterday (Tuesday) wait again get to the consultant, then I am told sorry they will call me as soon as it is sorted out. I have to my knowledge never used paypal EVER. It is Wednesday afternoon now and I have heard nothing. Now how useless do you have to be that you cannot even close someones account without some nonsense red tape? Even the consultant sat red faced and embarrased at being passed around on the phone like me
