I have applied with FNB for my first home loan. I waited 2 weeks from submission of application for an answer from FNB that was declined. I then resubmitted with my mom as a surety. I then again waited another week for response from FNB. They then informed me in writing that my application was approved, only awaiting the AIP letter. My OTP for the house expired on Friday 08/02/2013 so FNB confirmed with me via e-mail that there was a 100% bond approval and just awaiting AIP letter. This e-mail I then sent to the agent to show that I am approved. They then started the process with the lawyers.
On Monday 11/02/2013 I received an E-mail from the lady dealing with my application to inform me that the application has now been declined by the head of credit. Apparently due to affordability. I asked why they then told me in the first place that the application has been approved and I was just told that "the call centre does that some times". This is totally unacceptable. Untill today I have still not had proper feedback from FNB or even just a phone call. They referred the deal back to the original marker but still no answers from fnb. HOW CAN WE HELP YOU. What a joke
