FNB has debited my ABSA account for R435.00 without my knowledge.

On the 16th of March 2013 i had R435.00 taken of my account by FNB. I had no idea why or who took the money. I tried invain for 3 days to find out who took the amount. At first FNB gave me the number for dial direct who had no idea what i was talking about. I managed to get hold of someone four days later who explained that on the 7th June 2012 a payement was made into my account for R435.00. I received an sms stating that i received the amount. I never thought of anything of it as i knew the money was coming into my account. However on the 8th June 2012 the amount debited in my account again and they had taken the amount in lieu of that mistake.

My problem is as follws.

1. I dont have a problem of repaying the money but i have a problem in the manner in which it was done. If they corrected it a day later its fine but 8 months later is unacceptable.

2. FNB should have asked me and i would have paid the amount. Why did they have to go like to receive the money.

3. If they have done it now what stops them from doing it in future? My experience has really made me afraid of what can happend.
