Absa
UNLAWFULL DEDUCTION

There were three (3) transactions on my account. Three credits were passed but an additional deduction of R6546.32 (same amount as one of the transactions) was made from my bank account on 24 May 2012. The following period I drew that amount from my credit card as in my opinion it was an over deduction from my bank account but the following month Absa deduct it again. Eventually I cancelled the debit order.
On 14 March 2013 I received a call from Ollie (Absa card) I explained the scenario to her and she indicated that she understood the problem and will refer it to management. Soon after that I received e mail from Absa stating that the billing is correct and that they cannot find anything wrong with the account.
I have only one question and it refers to the statement dated 24 April - 24 May 2012. The amount due as per statement R10653.37 inclusive of the amount under dispute (R6546.32). If all the credits were passes why did Absa deduct this amount from my bank account. Meaning R10653.37-R6546.32 = R4107.05. The deduction should have only been R4107.05 and not R10653.37.
