I went into standard bank ring road branch in port elizabeth on a friday afternoon to reactivate my internet banking, one of the consultants helped me and said oh I see you apply for the Elite cheque account would you like to apply, I said sure. They were closing so made me a appointment with Lordinda on the Saturday morning of 5 January 2013. I completed the application. I made follow ups for about 3 weeks later, even contacting the branch manager - leaving my work number down for them to contact me as I could not accept personal calls at work. I received a miss call on my cell during the time of a unknown number, if it was them i do not know as I called back immediately and left my work number again. I have since dropped the matter.
About 3 weeks back, a lady from Walmer Park branch contacts me on my cell phone saying I qualify for a cheque account, would I like to apply. i explained why she said the mobile unit would contact me. I have yet to hear from anybody once again. so I was offered a service i was not looking for, but am interested now, and nobody contacts me back??? very bad service from standard bank.
