On Friday the 22nd of Feb 2013 I withdrew R1500 from the ATM outside the Nedbank branch in Gateway.
I took the money out of the machine & to my surprise, upon me counting it an hour later - it was R700 short!
I then went into the branch & spoke with Melanie Pillay who informed me that my query would be looked at in within 10 working days. I then proceeded to call her the following Monday to enquire if progress was made, when she informed me that this would take 5 working days to investigate. This was surprising, since I was previously told it would take an excessive 10 days.
I then received a call from her on the 4th of March 2013 to inform me that a cash count was done & everything is correct. I then mentioned the fact that there is CCTV cameras all around that bank & maybe they should take a look. My concerns were brushed off as I was then told to contact the banking ombudsman & that there is nothing more they can do.
I attempted get hold of the branch manager to no avail; I instead go hold of the acting manageress Elaine Govender. My discussion with her yielded no result.
If this is the attitude that Nedbank has towards its clients, I would rather go to "BEEP" bank!
