Simple MasterCard Question Cannot be Answered

I upgraded to the new MasterCard Debit Card for online purchases. When I tried to use it on PayPal, the card could not be verified. I then tried it on two websites (Loot, Uniforum). Both transactions succeeded. I phoned Client Care, wanting to know why it worked on these websites but not on PayPal. I spoke to a very belligerent Vuyisele Tshetsha, who insisted it did not work as I was not registered for SecureCode (7131579). I tried to explain to him that PayPal does not use SecureCode but he refused to listen. I then decided to lodge a complaint (7131591). I never received a response. I telephoned again and another consultant told me that the card does not work on PayPal (7138411). I again phoned and someone else told me I was not registered for "Card not Present" transactions, even though I tried to explain to her that I had already used it online (7316349). Immensely frustrated, I phoned MC USA, who put me through to PayPal, who told me to contact the bank. I contacted MC SA, who told me to contact Bryan Southwith, who finally gave me a definitive answer. Why did I have to go through all of this to have a simple question answered? Why did the consultants not want to help me?
