I took out a loan with Capitec Bank and lost my job afew months after. I made a payment arrangement with the bank which lasted for 6 months and as my luck had it I was still not on my feet with regards to finding employment. The bank refused to extend my arrangement, I continued to pay as per my arrangement with the bank, I was charged the normal installment that I could not afford. As months went by I continued making my payments until one day in Dec when I was told that I have been handed over to debt collectors. I asked for the details of the debt collectors and was given the name Coomb and Assosciates. I tried to contact them by calling and sending multiple emails but there was no reply. Why haven't they contacted me regarding a new arrangement or to give me any kind of information regarding my account? No word in four months! I suspect that they are collecting some sort of interest on my account by prolonging contact with me. Why else would it take four months? Something and foul is hapening and Capitec's name is written all over it. I expect that this issue will be resolved as a matter of urgency. I am really concerned about the level of transparency I have recieved.
