No credit card after 3weeks of application

I applied for a credit card 3 weeks back from the Nedbank branch at the Pietermaritzburg City Centre. Iv had to constantly visit the branch for feedback on the progress of my application because nobody had contacted me. Three weeks later and only after complaining to a gentlemen from the bank who had called and asked me to rate the service did I get a call that was asking me for a letter of appointment and only to find out after three weeks of my application that I wasn't eligible for a credit card since my work contract was too short. I feel that the lady who forwarded my application should have been knowledgeably enough to tell me that i was not eligible for a credit card so that i wouldn't waste so much time and energy standing in long ques to get feedback. I also expected that the bank would have known and told me earlier since they had my work contract agreement which had the exact length of my contract. I am really frustrated at the poor customer care by this bank. I feel that it cannot meet my needs at all.
