I recently decided to switch my banking from ABSA to FNB as I was led to believe that FNB were progressive and provided better service than its competitors. Now I believe it was just good marketing!
Opening the account was easy and I received my card via courier shortly that however is when the service stopped and the headache started. I was constantly phoned regarding outstanding documents which I submitted more than three times. I still haven't received my smartphone and have no indication of when I will. I have received emails referring to me as "Miss Bezuidenhout" whom I don't even know.
My debit orders have been switched to FNB however no one at FNB bothered to switch my salary which was paid into my ABSA account, clever thinking indeed. I have lodged two complaints (no response within the time period as promised), I phoned and my complaint was "escalated" thus nothing happened. What must I do more to get proper service, the smartphone I ordered, have my salary switched and have FNB respond to my complaints???
This is unacceptable.
