I recently applied and received a readvance on a home loan I have with Standard Bank. The monthly repayment for the loan is scheduled for the 15th of every month. On the 15th of February my account was debited with over a R101, 000!!! I phoned the home loans call centre on 18 February to inform them of the mistake and the agent said she will log a call with the back office to have a look at why this happened.By the 22nd of February I have not received any feedback from the bank so I phoned them again! The agent informed me that they are still looking into the problem and that someone will phone me back to keep me informed! I still have not received any response from anyone at Standard Bank!!! My account was also debited with amounts of R90 for 'Insufficient Funds' and R36.47 for a day's interest, because of the 'negative' amount in my account!! Who is paying for that!?!?!?!?
