On the 21st February 2013 I went to FNB Upington branch to open a savings account, and to my shock I was informed that cheque account (no62303289385) I had with The Rose FNB branch has an irrecovered amount of R1254.53 and system closed the account on January 2012. This is not accurate, between August and December 2011 I am CERTAIN that I made a cash deposit at the same branch after being informed that my Account was CLOSED and needed to make a payment of about R900 to recover the amount. I cannot remember the exact date, nor do I have proof of deposit nor the account details I was given to make the deposit, but do remember addressing the issue with the Branch Manager, a lady, who informed that she is closing the account as per above. I remember being the last customer to leave the bank and used the Business Teller section to do the deposit.
Yesterday I spoke to the branch via telephone, spoke to Roshen explain to him my query, but he made no effort to archives and in a dismissive fashion told me there is nothing that can be done.
I am unhappy and frankly feels that there is something seriously wrong here, I am inconvenienced, can this matter be thoroughly investigated please, ASAP
