No out payment after person died

Hello Peter my fiance died and had a policy at old mutual wher off i was the beneficiary i went to claim the policy and gave in the required paper work and then heard nothing so i went back and was required to hand in the paper work again this is still going on and i have still received no out payment or an answer why is it taking so long to pay out
