I had hail damage to my house in August 2012. Contacted ABSA Insurance to assist with the claim. Assessors report was submitted, quotes were obtained (value R24, 739.80) and submitted all within a month after the damage - we waited for the assessors report for quite some time. We the received a report stating that the property is insured for R1, 108, 641.00, the value at risk is R2, 270, 000.00 and therefore only R11, 582.62 will be paid out for the claim as we are under insured. I approached them again and was told that my claim will be presented to another committee on 12 Nov 2012. On 22 Nov 2012 it was decided to do further investigation and feedback will be given. On 02 Dec 2012 I again requested feedback. Again on 17 Jan 2013 I requested feedback and was told that Enos will get a new bank value and to date nothing has happened. I have spoken to various people, either via telephone and/or e-mail, such as Marius Kurger, Elsabe Jacobs, Enos. The claim is not yet settled although I am paying the new increased insurance premie since Jan 2013. Almost 6 months down the line and I am still waiting for Absa. I am not happy at all!!! Who is going to pay for any price increases!!!
