On wednesday 06/02/2013 after quing for a long time i was summoned to counter no 4 at the main branch absa brits, i explaned to the clerk that i am here to update my fica (me and my wifes fica was updated 2 months earlier) she examined the copy of my id, and my rental contract which i provided as proof of adress she proclamed that my lease contract had expired, under the experation date it clearly states that the contract will renew on a monthly bases until eather party gives two months notice, this makes the lease contract still valid! the clerk was incapable of comprehending this, there fore refused to accept my proof of residence.
i requested my wife to obtain adress confirmation from the realty-1 agent one in her name one in my name, this is solid proof of residence, on the 08/02/2013 my wife took our information to absa brits platinum mall to update both our fica's my fica was updated, my wife's fica was declined, reason being her name does not appear on the rental contract, her signature on 2 pages of the contract, plus the adress confirmation from the agent does not qualify as proof of residence, my wife studies, and she is losing valuble study time jumping through hoops
