I have to FICA fourth time this yea

It will be now the fourth time in one year that I have to FICA my accounts. The only way I find out is when ABSA blocks all my cards without my prior knowledge (which is very embarrassing when your card is not working whilst trying to complete a transaction). At least they send me an sms two weeks later informing me to please FICA at the nearest branch. I keep all my FICA compliance receipts and upon showing it to the person behind the ABSA counter they just pull up their shoulders and inform me that I have to FICA again. I do understand that the bank will have policies in place on which documents they accept for FICA and those they don't but can't they pick up the phone and say, sorry but we need a new or updated document.

For a person with a full time job it is extremely inconvenient and impractical to have to go stand in a queue for an hour to sort out something that points to incompetence of your provider.

Makes you wonder why the rest of the population moves to the "other" bank
