Huge problems with my Absa Credit Card.
1. Cannot make purchases online. Have called the customer care representative. His response is always to wait 24 hours. Nothing ever happens.
2. I had recently moved to a different employer and contacted Absa stating that I will make payment late due to me being paid late. We had agreed on the date. After making payment I had got a phone call about 3 or 4 hours later saying thank you. I was at the airport and needed a taxi cab home. Prior to calling the taxi cab I had tried to make a purchase the card declined. I ignored it and played cash in thinking that it is a problem on thier side. I indeed trying to pay for my taxi cab the card declines a second time. Now I was getting worried. I paid using the last bit of cash. I am not sure what I would have if I didn't carry an emergency fund in my suitcase. I then try the card again at Markro. It declined as well. Through the day I had made endless calls to Absa with each agent giving me different answer. Fed up eventually I urged the representative to give me a superiors number. I contacted her and her response wad simple. I'm not sure what is going on. Please wait 24 hours.
