I recently received a call from ABSA to upgrade my credit card. I accepted with the condition that they DO NOT SIMPLY CANCEL MY CURRENT CARD. I tried to make a purchase today, and my card was declined. When I took a look at my online banking, ABSA STOPPED my credit card account and MOVED MY MONEY TO ANOTHER ACCOUNT. I was never informed of this, and NOW I DON'T EVEN HAVE ACCESS TO MY OWN MONEY!!! I cannot even move my money to my cheque account. I am leaving the country tomorrow and now I have no way to pay overseas. I intended to use the card abroad because of the low transaction costs. I have not even received a notification that my new card is ready, although I sincerely hope I can pick it up tomorrow. This is really unacceptable.
