Today, Sunday 2 FEB, I received an sms from the Nedbank Team that caution has been placed on my debit card, and that I should go to my nearest branch with my ID. So I went to the branch in the Jacaranda centre in Rietfontein, Pretoria. I stood in a queue for an hour before I reached the staff member at Enquiries. She was extremely unpleasant to deal with and unfriendly. She did not smile once, or even greet me properly. When I told her about the sms, she told me I must phone the call centre tomorrow morning. I asked her what the sms means, and she told me it is usually if the call centre tries to phone me and confirm details, and I don't answer. I asked her if I can use my debit card and account in the meantime, and she told me NO, my account will be frozen until I sort it out with the call centre. I have 2 major problems with this - firstly, the fact that I had to wait in a queue for 1 hour, and then be treated poorly by a staff member, who anyway told me I cannot be helped - so I wasted my time. Secondly, WHY IS MY ACCOUNT FROZEN?? I AM UNABLE TO THROW FUEL INTO MY CAR, OR BUY FOOD, AND I DO NOT CARRY CASH WITH ME! I ALWAYS SWIPE MY CARD! I EXPECT FEEDBACK VERY SOON!
