I am astounded, angry and frustrated. I am trying apply as surety, although my son is an FNB account holder, for a student loan for his 2nd and 3rd year tuition at a private institution. So we go to the bank in Cape Town with all the documents and stand in a queue for 45 minutes and then sit with the consultant for an hour whilst she enters all the details. Guess what? The application gets lost. I then complete the application online and get a reference number. I phone in to check progress. Guess what? It gets lost. I phone and get given at least 3 numbers which I try and on one I wait for 8 minutes and 43 seconds before I put the phone down. On the last call, I get told that the person that can deal with this will phone me back, which never happened. All this has taken about 2 weeks, so last night I write a long complete directly on their contact us website. I submit and get an "error on page".. It can't be that difficult. I am not an FNB customer and was considering switching my personal and business accounts based on the "Steve" adverts which promise the world, but obviously not in the student loan departments
