I am a platinum client of fnb. On the 1 Feb I went to see the bank to arrange a Pre approval for a house loan. This would be the second home lone the first was settled. The lady at home loans fnb told me that they do not do Pre approvals I should go to Standard bank they can do Pre approvals, she did not even take my detail down shocking. This is what's been advertise on their web site. "Know how much can you afford
We will provide you with a view on how much you would qualify for in order to ensure that you make an informed decision. We will require proof of income from you and upon receipt we will do a credit approval and will provide you with a Passport to Purchase (Approval in Principle) that is valid for 90 days. You are then able to negotiate the best price for your dream home, with the peace of mind that you already have secured your finance."
This is exactly why I went to my bank in the first place. I did lay an complaint on Friday the 1st of Feb but no feedback in my view this is false advertisement. I know that their are lots more banks that will seriously look at my application it's just a shame that I invested 18years in this bank looks like I should go to bbbb bank.
