Ask me why Capitec is not for you

My boyfriend and I went to switch accounts to Capitec having heard some positive feedback from friends. We completed all the relevant forms that we downloaded from the bank's website and brought supporting evidence in a form of proof of residence, payslips and ID copies to ensure we won't have to go back and forth in order to switch accounts.

After getting the appropriate ticket, we sat for the next 40 minutes in a queue for the consultants, consisting of about 5-6 people, not moving even once. However, when one of the customers who came in after us complained, she received service almost immediately.

When I complained about waiting for a long time, we were told to sit and wait until the consultant becomes available. No apologies, just a bad attitude and an instruction to sit and wait. We walked out almost immediately and resolved not only never to go back to Capitec, but also to advise anyone who is interested in switching bank to not even consider Capitec. No one wants the hassle to switch to a bank that treats its customers badly. After all, what would be the point of switching?
