I called in the beginning of this week for a pre-authorisation code for giving birth at carstenhof clinic. I was called back by Elba who says he's a pre-authorisation service provider for essential med. He advised me that essential med would only be paying R11 000 for the hospital stay for 2days and I would have to pay the balance of the invoice. Your maternity benefits-(according to the information published on your web page &email correspondence from Marilize Ackerman), states that irrespective of the procedure essential med will pay R15 500 for 3days towards my stay in hospital (bearing in mind that I've never claimed for any hospital stay with essential med since i started my policy in 2011). I called Carstenhof clinic and they have informed me that they would be charging R19 000 for natural birth and this is inclusive of 3days and 2nights. Please advise on these amounts payable. To say the least I am really annoyed with the service that I have received from your company, I emailed Marilize on tuesday&to-date have not received a response, then got a call from a girl who had no clue about my query yesterday who said she'd get customer services to call me back, which has not happen.
