I am totally and utterly disgusted with Essential Med! What is the aim of having medical insurance with a hospital plan if you are not prepared to pay out when needed. I need to go for Mitral Valve Replacement surgery. I was messed around for two weeks running from Cardiologist to GP getting medical reports that Essential Med told me they require to be able to pay for the surgery out of Dread Disease. After all this I get told that Essential Med will only cover the surgery out of the Illness Benefit... what a joke!!! Apparently I have to have a Heart Attack first for Essential Med to pay for the surgery out of Dread Disease... get real! What the is Heart Failure then? Essential Med suggested I go to a State Hospital for the surgery, DO you have you any idea how they treat a white female at a State Hospital? This is my LIFE Essential Med is messing with!!! I need to have the surgery to be able to live a long life BUT this means absolutely nothing to Essential Med. I am shocked that my life means so little to Essential Med, telling me I need to have a Heart Attack before they will pay surgery that will save my LIFE!!!
