Lat year around about November i went to Middleburg on an away Job, i ddnt have cash with me, so i went to an ATM in-order to withdraw cash, to my surprise i couldn't access my cash because the atm said " account problems refer to branch ", so then i got stuck in Midlleburg. Upon visiting the branch in middleburg, they said that I did not submit my proof of residence hence my account was closed. I am not really fuss about the fact that my account was closed because of the proof of residence. they problem is they just closed my account without even letting me know, they just close. Recently I also opened the much advertised silver cheque account that was meant to be R79 per month ever since September, I have never used the account, not even for a single transaction, on having a look at the bank statements i noted that the bank charges were about R560.00 FROM November to December. With Absa, you have to be careful they sometimes debit your account with enormous fees that are never explained
