I received an sms informing that my absa account was closed, so I went to the closest Absa branch closest to me on the day - dated 22/01/2013 as there are so many going around, I went to the Absa branch based in PTA - Gezina. The day at the branch infomred the it was s cam and I should ingnore the smses and that my account was still active an opened. So I informed my HR department, my account is fine and my salary can still be deposited into this account. Only to find out on the 30th January that my account was officially closed and that my salary bounced back. (if had know this earlier on about my bank account being closed, I would have taken action and opened a new account, I am currently sitting with no pay unitl I now open a new bank account and would have to wait 5 days until the transaction is processed and cleared and I receive my Janaury salary in the month of FEb. the service at Absa is totally unacceptable... I have officially opend a new account with another banking institute. I would appreciate if someon could actually assist with findign out how my account at absa was closed without my consent... really dissappointed with service at Absa...
