I opened an account for my son last year with all the necessary documentation. All of a sudden he can't withdraw money with his card. Message: "Accounting problem". It worked fine since last year without any problems.

I phoned ABSA and they told me I have to visit a branch to provide them with proof of residence. All these documentation was provided when the account was opened and now it must be provided AGAIN.

This is really pathetic and I want to know what happened to the original documents and WHY I must waste my time to go into a branch AGAIN to provide documents they already have.

I've been banking with ABSA for more than 20 years and surely they should have all possible proof of residence that exists.
