I made purchases using my standard bank cheque card, all was well & done i received my receipts as well as the smses which usually explain the activity on my account. This was on the 17th of December. Some how on December 25th the money was reversed into my acc with no notice of where it came from (i really thought it was a christmas miracle) until the 8th of January, when i wanted to purchase airtime, i noticed my acc was in arrears! i went into the chatsworth branch. they informed me that 3 stores had banked late & therefore the monies went of late. Now considering the time frame there were PLENTY working days of which the monies could've been released as well as I could've been informed! BUT NO ONE bothered to make contact & the bank basically said the only option was to let my salary come in and level out the money that was in arrears! No one explain that i would be charge R360.00 in total for honouring fees and nearly R100.00 in overdraft fees. I did not sign up for an overdraft which would've made it easier for the bank to pick up on the error in my account! Now for something that would've costed me R2000 i ended up paying R2500 incl calls & time! I now live on credit
