Money going out of accounts late

I made purchases using my cheque card just before christmas, 2012 i recieved sms's just after i purchased saying the money had been taken and the balnce decreased as well, then my account is futher deducted on the 7th of january for the same amounts, when i phoned standard bank they said it is not their problem i must speak to the people who banked the money late now i must pay for late payment fees due to there being no funds available when it should have gone of sooner, so who the runs standard bank??? I should have closed my accounts when my husband closed his and told me they are the worst bank to deal with. if this is not resolved my next step is Wendy Knowler.
