Account closure not actioned and poor service

I called Nedbank to close my current and cheque account as was told that I could not do it telephonically because I had an overdraft facility on my account so I needed to go into a branch to do so.

I went into Nedbank's The Bridge branch and closed my cheque account at enquiries and was informed that I would have to call card division myself to cancel my credit card which I in turn did (Ref N372002)

I then received an sms informing me my cheque account was overdrawn. I called the customer contact centre on the 21st and explained the story where I was told a manager would make contact me within 48 hrs (Ref 66654348) No one had yet made contact so I phone again today where I received the run around and ended up with the complaints department (Ref 278226) A complaint has been logged and I was informed I'd received feedback in the next 48 hrs.

Nedbank's slogan of "ask once" is an absolute joke! Thank goodness I've opened an FNB account now. The really do help you.
