Balance update

On the 8th January 2014 I logged onto my Standard Bank Internet Banking and with a balance of R1955.24 and made a payment of R1499.98 to MSC. I received an sms confirming this and contained within my sms was my balance of R455.26. I then swiped my card the very same evening for an amount of R260.00 and again received an sms with confirming such along with my balance of R195.26. I then received an sms on the 10th January 2014 to say my current account has been overdrawn. I do not have an overdraft facility. I logged onto my internet banking and all my previous transactions now had different balances alongside them and I was now in arrears in excess of R1000!! The sms tells me to call 086 149 8468 which I did so. The person I speak to tells me that because I'm making purchases and the credit card machines are with other banking institutions that this is the reason for the delay, which I don't buy into. He then tells me to go to a branch to which I respond by saying that I've been asked to call this number and yet he is not able to help me so why not just send an sms saying go to your nearest branch.

I have never had this issue in the past. My purchases are always immediate.
