Internet banking and limits

I opened an account at Standard Bank Menlyn branch last year. After opening the account, they could not issue me with a card, but the consultant assured me that I would be able to transfer with internet banking even though I don't have a card. Well, when I tried to register for internet banking, of course I need a card number to register.
So I returned a few weeks later and got my card. I registered for internet banking with no hiccups.
Now I have tried to make my first transfer with the internet banking with no success - my limit is R0, and it will need to be changed in the branch.
This is incredibly irritating, to be told twice that everything is ready for internet banking, and then being unable to transact with internet banking. I don't have enough time to go in to the bank over and over again. I will definitely be visiting the Standard Bank branch soon, but it will be to close my account. Clearly Standard Bank is the famous *beep* bank!!
