Incorrect balance sent to me

Hi,

I registered for the standard bank phone banking service which sms's me every time a transaction goes through my account also giving me an updated balance. I use this system to monitor my bank balance and do purchases. This past week i made transactions as usual keeping the balance they gave me in mind. When i see my statement i see this honoring fee for R120.00 for my account going into arrears. I was unaware my account was in arrears as the balance on the phone banking reflected a different amount. when i spoke to Standard bank they tell me that the transaction went off late and that caused me to go into arrears. When asking what the balance on the sms's they have been sending me was they told me that was just an indication of a balance not true balance, yet these balances they send me match my transactions!?!? why make a service to misinform your clients?! How can the computer system process the transaction, update my balance, send me a confirmation sms and then not "update" on the main system?!

I was politely told that i would not get my money back and it had nothing to do with standard bank... cute...
