I took out a loan with Standard Bank a year and a half ago and settled it late 2012. Since the beginning of September last year I have been receiving smses that my account will be debited for an outstanding loan. I have called and written to Standard Bank on numerous occasions to stop debiting my bank account. One of the consultants called me to check my query and told me the loan has been paid up to date and doesn't know why I'm still being debited. This is causing a massive headache for me as the bank is charging me for debit orders being rejected. Who must pay for those charges? I have requested a paid up letter and have still not received it. Standard Bank really needs to shape up!!
