Had an accident around April 2012, whereby a drunk driver drove into my vehicle. got all details, had him arrested and logged in claim. Car repaired and to date, after a call a month to Dial Direct Recoveries, I am told that they cant get hold of the accused and hence cant do anything about it.
If I want I can take it up with the small claims court.
So basically, if you at fault and tell the recovery insurance company that you not going to pay them or just avoid them, they cant do anything... as long as the value in under R20k. - Lovely way to get away, thanks to Dial Directs inefficiencies.
and on top that, they increased my excess by 200% and my premium by 60%. Needless to say, I cancelled my policy with them.
