Changed ID, I must close account get new

I went to Capitec for a loan and found that I am not even going to get 1c loan because of the last 3 digits of my 2004 ID changed from the ID I used to open my account in 2002, according to CAPITECs system I'm now someone else doesn't matter the fingerprints system. The consultant called help desk and the branch manager who both said I must close the account and reopen a new account because of the new system. Thinking of all the hassles of letting my employer, friends, family and everyone know of changed banking details debt orders that also need to be changed l phoned Capitec client service and told the lady consultant my problem. Her answer to me was I must close my account and reopen a new account and if I don't want to do this I must go another bank (I was so mad I can't remember her name, call was made 27/12/2013 at 11h50 if the taped conversation wasn't deleted will still be available) I also tried to get answers from Capitec Facebook without any luck, their answer was the same, I also asked what about the interest of the R81000. 00 I'vebeen paying 28 months what happens with a new account.
