I was selling my phone and a person said he would make an eft to my account, to which I was ok with but would hold the phone till money clears. Received sms notifying me of a payment from Nedbank. Then that evening got an sms stating a cheque had been paid by this person into my bank account. On Christmas day received sms that the cheque was and checked my account and my account was frozen after paying a service fee for this cheque. Went to bank and I have to pay to get the cheque uplifted or wait 4 days. I was told its my fault the cheque was and l gave my account details out. I feel this is not right as l received an sms of an eft and then this cheque sms all pointing to activity and lm to blame? So now even when you give your banking details to a new employer you have to trust them with your account even family?
