I signed a contract with Capitec Bank earlier this year for a personal loan.
After numerous battles to get the loan due to irregular pay dates it was agreed that the premium deduction will be done on the 26th of each month.
A capitec representative contacted me to confirm if my salary date remained the same, I confirmed and was told that because the 26 is a public holiday, the deduction will only occur on the 27th of december.
Today, the premium was deducted because my new employer gave a different date (without my knowledge) and thus the money was deducted the day BEFORE said pay date happened.
I don't understand how a company can just change a LEGAL agreement as they see fit!
This will now be reflected on my credit record as a "not paid" and I will sit with this record for the rest of my life.
