My 24 year old son has not been felling well due to severe back pain. As a result he cannot go to a standard bank branch du eto severe pain when he is walking or standing or sitting down. He has to down until he recevers. He urgently needs stamped bank statements from standard bank so he can submit to Liberty Life for an insurance claim. The bank refuses to give us bank statemnets as they say they want my son to physically go to the bank. He wrote a letter to the bank together and gave it to his sister who together with his ID book took it to the wonderpark branch in Pretoria but they still could not give us bank statements. The bank has proof that I opened the bank account for my son when he was still under age. They refuse to give the bank statemnets to me. My son's doctor is away on holiday at this stage. My son cannot go to a doctor now just to get a doctor's letter as he has to stay in bed My son needs the insurance money to pay for medical expenses urgently. Standard Bank is not helpful. This is a unique case and they cannot even sent someone to my son's home so they can verify that it is him who needs the bank statements. I am so glad I moved my cheque account to FNB.
