I went to standard bank alberton branch to purchase foreign exchange for our trip
we waited 20minutes before a consultant just said "can I help you" with no smile, greeting or friendliness - was as if she is doing me a favour.
they refused to give us forex due to our proof of residence (water and lights account) because the municipality did not put the area name on the statement even though I have a account with standard bank showing the area name and previous statements showed the area (they say those statements were too old.. yet Nedbank approved and supplied us with forex the day before with smiles and friendliness.
I have decided to close my accounts with Standard Bank and do not recommend them to anybody
