No reimbursement after money disappeared

In November already, I noticed R1 000 was missing from my Absa debit card account. Upon closer inspection of my bank statements, I saw that several debits had been made called POS MTN Eazi Recharge. R300 here, R200 there, etc.

I went to the Absa Hyde Park branch that morning and spoke to a friendly lady called Lorna. She assured me that this MTN Eazi Recharge was a common one that Absa's aware of and that I would definitely be reimbursed within two weeks. I was so relieved!

After three weeks and several phone calls, I still hadn't heard anything. I finally got through to Lorna today and she says my reimbursement has been declined, but she doesn't know why.

She says she'll find out why and let me know. Really Absa? Now I'll have to call again and again until she can tell me. And who knows what the excuse will be this time??

I've been a loyal customer since the Volkskas days, but if this doesn't get resolved I'm moving to FNB as soon as possible and I'll make sure everyone knows it.

You will never be the 'Go-To' bank in Africa with this kind of customer service. Barclays or no Barclays.
