I have a business bank account with FNB and have done various online international payments with my card for business purposes. Today I wanted to make an urgent online payment for a product that I need to deliver a service to a customer. I received a message that I need to verify my card by visa. When I phoned the help desk, the only response is that I now have to open a personal account at FNB to be able to verify my business account. I already have a personal account with ABSA and see no reason to open a personal account with FNB. I submitted all required business documentation when I originally opened my account and also have made various online international payments. I find this exceptionally frustrating and it actually limits my business capability. In my opinion, it is rediculous to have to open a personal account to be able to verify my business account. it makes no logical sense. Because of this restriction, I have to go back to my client and indicate that unfortunately I can't make the payment in order to deliver the service. Implying that I loose out on over R20 000 in business!!
